New for 2021 is our Marine Ecology Club designed specifically for the younger ocean lover. There is no requirement to get in the water only a curiosity about the ocean and the marine life that lives there. We often meet children when talking in schools who tell us they want to work in Marine Biology and Conservation. The future of our oceans depends on them realising their dreams and we love to be a small part on that journey.
We have a sponsored school program for children that attend local schools where we help them achieve the SSI globally recognised certifications in Ecology. You can always contact us to see if they qualify for this program.
From that program we have established the Mulberry Marine Ecology Club. Starting with online classes to learn about the Marine residents, to moving on to help in beach cleans, citizen science surveys, and monitoring work the club is just the beginning. They can meet likeminded individuals who share the same passion for all things aquatic.
We appreciate not all of you live on the coast, so we want to bring it into your home. Each session lasts an hour and is mixture of activity, discussion and fun. Learn about the tides, marine residents, ecosystems, food chains, human impact and what we can do to help.
When restrictions allow, join us for Marine Life Walks and see the theory in practice. We will be arranging club meets and activities to further knowledge whilst having fun.
The online club sessions can be attended on an informal basis. The topics will be posted in advance, with a guide to age range suitability. Numbers are limited to ensure all attendees have plenty of time with the tutor. You can book your place online. We have a waiting list if the session is full and you will be notified of spaces as they become free. The cost is £15 per session for each household (up to four attendees on one device).
