The oceans and its inhabitants often capture the imagination of children. In fact, the future health and welfare of the oceans will depend on their connection and understanding of the ocean. The SSI Scuba Rangers program is a confined water program designed for children who are interested in learning to dive. They may be too young to complete become a Junior Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver Course, but they can begin to build skills ready.
The SSI Scuba Rangers Program offers all the training and education that a regular Open Water Diver receives, on a child’s level of understanding. They are learning actual diving skills and knowledge whilst having fun. The program begins with the development sessions to become a Scuba Ranger, including workshops, in water sessions, and activities across sessions. They will work with others, build confidence, perform, and filmed skilled circuit for you, and discover a fun practical way to enjoy physics and biology.
It does not stop once they become a Scuba Ranger. There are fortnightly sessions they can attend to keep building and developing their skills and interest*. These include club social Sessions, ecology sessions, and of course in water fun!

The Scuba Rangers programmes begin on the Saturday of every month. The ongoing sessions can be booked individually or in blocks of five at a time. We do not train in large groups so pre-booking is essential. We are happy to provide further details on request.
