The SSI Extended Range Sidemount Diving program provides you with the skills and concepts to safely dive with a Sidemount Configuration. This configuration, commonly used by cave and wreck divers, can now be learned by recreational divers.
Your motivation to consider this configuration might include a desire to carry more gas in a manageable style or to prepare for diving in more restricted spaces. The ease of movement this style allows moves you from carrying a heavy tank on your back. You will need to have some diving experience before entering this program so a minimum of 24 logged dives is required.
A Configuration Practical Application precedes any in-water activity on this course. You will be encouraged to consider options for the different components of the Sidemount equipment and the relative benefits and disadvantages. The confined water session is typically held using twin 7ltr tanks before an Open Water Session with twin 12 ltr tanks.
You will have the opportunity, under guidance of your Instructor, to practice your skills in two open water dives. The dives are conducted from the shore at Selsey Lifeboat Station*.

We want you to get the most from your learning experience, so we keep our classes small. If you prefer, we do offer a 1:1 option on all our training courses, just ask.
