Search and Recovery

This SSI Search and recovery program provides you with the skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct search and recovery dives. You will learn about search patterns, specialized dive plans, underwater communication, and how to recover small to medium-sized objects using specialized equipment like lift bags.

Your training will start with a confined water/pool session where your Instructor will show you the specialised equipment, which you will then have the chance to use, and practice the different types of search patterns.  

Under the guidance of your Instructor you will move into Open Water for two dives. These open water dives* will be conducted from the shore at Selsey Lifeboat Station.
