The SSI Fish Identification Course teaches you the skills and concepts needed to help you identify the fish you see. Our oceans are full of fascinating and beautiful fish of all shapes and sizes. Part of the fun of scuba diving is recording what we encountered when we dive.
The SSI Fish Identification Course is a land-based speciality programme, focusing on the common families of Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and Red Sea reef fish. In addition, we offer unique additional sections to cover the fish you are most likely to encounter diving in the English Channel. We look at their ICUN status, where and when you are likely to encounter them.
Certified Snorkel Divers or Open Water Divers have the option to add an open water session at Selsey Lifeboat Station. Please ask for full details and costs. The Selsey Bill and the Hounds Marine Conservation Zone has a rich biodiversity waiting to be discovered.
