Deep Diver

You will have discovered that there are dive sites that are beyond your Open Water certification level of 18 metres. To dive deeper you need additional skills to plan and conduct dives below 18 metres. The SSI Deep Diving course is there to provide you with these skills. 

Working with your Instructor you will develop the skills you need to extend your diving. The course includes a confined water/pool session where you will explore your Total Diving System and any special equipment that now needs to be included. 

The academic workshops will include information on the hazards that diving deeper presents. Planning exercises for single and multiple dives which will check your knowledge and ability to plan safely. 

The course includes three open water dives at locations along the south coast*. These will be split across several days increasing in depth as you progress.  On completion your depth limit will extend to 40 metres.

The Deep Diving Course is required training for those divers wanting to explore Extended Range and Advanced Diver Training. 

*boat dives and transport is not included, diving is weather and conditions dependent.
