Diver Stress and Rescue

Stress has a negative impact on scuba diving and is one of the major causes of diving accidents. The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to recognize and deal with stress, prevent accidents and properly deal with emergency situations should they arise. 

During your course you will explore types of stress, learning how it impacts you and others. Discover practical ways to elevate stress when it happens, helping to prevent accidents. It is necessary for you to have a valid First Aid, CPR and 02 provider certification dated within the last two year. We do offer course combinations with React Right, please ask for more details.  

The confined water/pool sessions will begin by refreshing your self-rescue skills. You Instructor will then introduce skills so you can assist a diver in an Emergency situation. The teaching team will give you the opportunity to practice whilst having fun.   

The Open Water dives are conducted from the shore at Selsey Lifeboat Station*. This will be two full and rewarding days where, under guidance from your Instructor, you will bring together the rescue and first aid skills in several scenarios, as you take charge!

Course begin on the first Friday of each month with the first of the academic workshops, home study is required ahead of the workshops. We want you to get the most from your learning experience, so we keep our classes small.  If you prefer, we do offer a 1:1 option on all our training courses, just ask for pricing and dates.

If you are currenlty certified in Diver Stress and Rescue or Rescue Diver but not used your skills in a while we offer refresher sessions. You can choose from academics, pool, and open sessions or join us for all three. Prices from £75 per person. 

If you are considering using our Guided Dives service, once you have the Diver Stress and Rescue certifcation you will qualify for a reduced price.
