This SSI Navigation program equips you with the skills and concepts required to navigate underwater safely and comfortably during your dive. Plan your dive, set your target destination, and go explore.
Your Instructor will teach you how to use a compass with basic navigation patterns. They will show you how to use natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, and how to leave and return to a designated point.
The course includes a confined water/pool session where you will work with your Instructor to gain confidence and be comfortable with using the compass. The Open Water dives will be conducted from the shore at Selsey Lifeboat Station*.
