We are often asked what is there is to see at Selsey and what is the visibility like? The honest answer is plenty and variable. The SSI Night and Limited Visibility course prepares you for these changes by providing you with the skills and concepts to safely conduct night and limited visibility dives. These two types of dives share similar requirements for buddy communication, staying together, being visible, specialised equipment and how it can help you.
Diving at night allows you a different perspective on a dive site. The marine life changes: some settle down to rest, whilst nocturnal hunters become active, therefore night diving lets you meet those residents who prefer to sleep during the day.
The Open Water dives will be conducted from the shore at Selsey Lifeboat Station*. The aim of your Instructor will be for you to experience a limited visibility and a night dive for this course, tides allowing.
If you have never dived in the UK this course is a great way to get started. Under guidance you can discover the amazing life waiting to be discovered by you. Why limit your dives to the daytime or on holiday when there is so much to see at here?
