The SSI Photo and Video program teaches you the skills needed to dive safely with an underwater camera. It provides you with the in-depth knowledge and experience you need to effectively use, maintain, and store your equipment.
Learn how to approach and interact with your underwater subjects, and what the effects of light and visibility will have on your perfect shot. Whether you have your own camera or are using one of ours we will teach you how to prepare the camera before entering the water. During the two pool sessions we will look at your buoyancy with a camera, and then practice taking pictures using still and moving subjects. The post pool workshop allows time to review and look at processing and editing techniques.
It is possible to add an optional open water dive at Selsey Lifeboat Station. You instructor will take you on a dive and locate subjects for you to photograph. We will then review these with you post dive. Please ask for details.
What is included?
We want you to get the most from your learning experience, so we keep our classes small. If you prefer, we do offer a 1:1 option on all our training courses, just ask.
With your new skills why not join us on one for ecology events. We will be building photographic records of the marine life in the Selsey Bill and Hounds Marine Conservation Zone. You can find out more here.
