Mermaid Course

Are you looking for a fun way to enjoy the water? Mermaiding is not only great fun but excellent for fitness and water confidence. The SSI Try Mermaid program is your introduction to the world of mermaids and mermen and to swimming with a mermaid monofin. 

If you enjoyed the Try Mermaid Program, then the Mermaid Program allows you to gain a globally recognised certification on completion, that allows you to mermaid in an indoor setting. This is a fun program that is designed help you develop the skills you need. You will learn to move through the water in comfort and with confidence, using your monofin and your mermaid tail.

Under the guidance of your Instructor you will learn about the types of monofins and tails, basic freediving techniques to allow you to enjoy the graceful swim under water. You will learn the skills of a mermaid/merman and how to keep your self safe when mermaiding!

 If you want to take your mermaid skills further on completion of your course you can take Ocean Mermaid.
