Whilst many of us are now enjoying a return to a more normal life COVID still has significant implications for diving and freediving activities. We have waited until now to release this statement to see how the position will develop but with no additional updates we have outlined our practices and requirements moving forward.
The UK Diver Medical Committee updated their advice on COVID (Feb 22) and recommend a recovery time of one month for divers. They use a scoring system and full details can be be found at https://www.ukdmc.org
Although the Government has removed rules around testing and isolation, we would ask that if you have symptoms that suggest you may have COVID-19 then please consider whether it is appropriate for you and your buddy to dive today. If you have tested positive within the last 14 days please do not travel and dive with us.
After careful review we have decided that for the present time we will continue with our current COVID safety conditions for the protection of our customers and staff in training. In summary :-
All students and staff will be required to take a LFT Test prior to any training day. If you test positive do not attend and contact us to arrange new dates.
Equipment for training will be allocated to you at the start of your training and be for your exclusive use. It will be cleaned, sterilised where possible and if not quarantined for at least 48 hours between uses.
Our opening hours will remain Thursday to Sunday for the moment. When the boat is running the centre will be open one hour before first departure (unless otherwise notified) for registration and rental collection. We are happy to agree other times by appointment you can request by phone, email or Facebook message. We use times outside of these hours to train and run events but will accommodate all requests that we can.
